Learn and Cruise in the Caribbean this winter!

Navy Point Academy and Barefoot Offshore Sailing School (BOSS) are collaborating to offer Sail Canada courses in the Caribbean in 2023.

Having participated in a BOSS instructor development clinic last April, Guillaume and Dave invite you to join them in the Caribbean for a week in the sun!  These Learn and Cruise courses enable you to advance to the next level on a monohull (Sail Canada Intermediate Cruising) or catamaran (Intermediate combined with the SC Catamaran Endorsement), while spending a week cruising in the tropical paradise of the Grenadines. ASA certification is also available.

Dates offered:

March 12th - March 18th

March 19th - March 25th

March 26th - April 1st

To book your fun in the sun:

Based at Port Credit Harbour Marina in Mississauga, Navy Point Academy delivers Sail Canada Basic Cruising, Intermediate Cruising, and other courses from April through October.
BOSS is the longest-running sailing school in the southern Caribbean, operating year-round in the Grenadines for over 25 years, and offering a full range of Sail Canada, ASA, and other specialized courses with a particular focus on Advanced and Offshore training.

About our courses in the Grenadines

Courses begin and end in Blue Lagoon on the south-west corner of St. Vincent, and travel approximately 120 miles over the course of the week, visiting most of the larger islands in the Grenadines – an archipelago of 30+ islands that extends about 50 miles to the south of St. Vincent. There are scores of beautiful anchorages, secluded beaches, reefs for snorkeling, and opportunities for dining ashore. Typical weather here features 28C temperatures, 12-20 knot tradewinds and 1-1.5 meter waves in the open passages between islands, with lighter winds and waves in the lee of the larger islands. This provides students with opportunities to practice in sheltered waters, but also experience managing the boat in oceanic conditions.

Getting there

In March 2023, Air Canada is offering direct flights from Pearson Airport (YYZ) to St Vincent (SVD) on Tuesdays and Fridays. Fly out on Friday for Sunday-Saturday course, returning the following Tuesday. Alternatively, connections are available through Miami (MIA) on Saturdays, or Barbados (BGI) most days of the week.
